it sounds like he's marking his territory. if he's not fixed already you can get him fixed and this might help. they have sprays that deter animals from urinating in certain spots and sprays that promote urination in the spots you want them too. you can also try wee wee pads in the areas that he goes in. at least then he wont be going on the furniture....
